ECBT is one of the prominent manufacturer and Indian partner with a unique state of the art aeronautical manufacturing facility to process complex 5-axis machined aero structure parts from plates, castings, forgings, billets, or round bar of metals such as aluminium, titanium, stainless steel, and Inconel. ECBT manufactures locomotive and coach equipment for several units of the Indian Railways. Apart from Indian Railways, customers include reputed players such as Bharat Earth Movers Ltd, Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd, and NRE USA.
ECBT is one of the Indian companies that manufactures crankcase assembly products for 4,500 brake horse power (BHP) engines for diesel locomotives. It is currently manufacturing an engine block.
About 1,200 locomotives with ECBT-manufactured engine blocks are running on Indian and USA rail tracks.
Indian Railways is manufacturing high-speed Linke Hofmann Busch (LHB) coaches. ECBT is a prominent source for manufacturing FIAT bogie frames for passenger coaches; it has manufactured and supplied 10,000 frames until now.
ECBT is a Research Designs and Standards Organisation (RDSO)-approved source for manufacturing locomotive bogies. It has also developed a production line for manufacturing locomotive and passenger coach shell assembly. The latest addition is a bogie frame for train 18, the newest high-speed passenger train for Integral Coach Factory (ICF), Chennai.
